It’s the middle of the night, June 1852. A raging torrent engulfs a fledgling township on the floodplain of the Murrumbidgee River. Whole buildings are swept away. People cling for their lives in the trees. At least 89 people drown. It’s still the worst recorded flood disaster in Australian history.
