I learnt that even without making videos, I can add some fantastic moment to the hundreds of still images I have and this is a great start for me. I learnt that I have to think about how to “tell our story” (about what we grow and produce ) in a visual medium in a way that is succinct and really targeted. Each image or video has to impart much more than a single idea. It has to be loaded with suggestive ideas. I learnt this is like painting the house – It’s all in the prep work – getting your messages right, planning, thinking things through. This will save a massive amount of time – very important if you are already time poor.

I have often thought about learning to make videos and have dabbled a bit but it was really hard to work out where to start then time consuming to learn by trial and error. The great thing about your course was the way you guided us through the whole process from start to finish. I feel like I was able to use all your experience and practice to make much more rapid progress than I could possibly have made on my own. Having a written record is great too. I wasn’t spending the day rushing to copy down notes because you had it all there and it will be great to refer back to.
